The Light at the End of the Tunnel – How the Process of Justice Offers Healing After Sexual Assault

The Light at the end of the Tunnel - Sexual Assault Survivor If you have been sexually assaulted, there are likely days when you feel like you are staring down a long, dark tunnel; not knowing where you are heading or even how to get there.

People may be advising you to seek help, to seek justice, and to turn your life around and move forward. These are all valid suggestions, but where do you begin? How do you get through that first mile?

The last thing most victims want to do after a traumatic experience is to deal with law enforcement, the judicial system, and even lawyers. In all honesty, I can’t blame them! I have chosen to represent sexual assault victims because I want to help survivors in their journey toward healing through the pursuit of justice.

Here’s how we move forward together.  When you contact me, we will discuss your experience in YOUR words. You do not need to worry about “how to say what you feel.” If I do not understand, we will find the words together.

Next, I will explain the options available to you under your circumstances. If you decide to seek justice, you will not move through the justice system alone.  By being by your side, we turn every “next step” into a step forward. It may take some time, but you will find strength in being able to follow through the process.

Healing is Not an Overnight Process

Through the process of justice each step brings you closer; onto and through the path to justice and healing. Yes. It can take some time, but the process itself is healing, even empowering, even before we reach “the light.”

I don’t want you to be intimidated by what may lay ahead. The worst is behind you. I will walk with you through the tunnel and guide your way until we reach the light.
